Gmail’s very bright Material Design update is now available to all Android and iOS users for now. The new update brings Gmail redesign Version elements like the company’s Google sans font. And the new design is with a new search bar that will exist at the top of the display. Besides that, user will not see the red menu bar that used to be a keystone of the app. Well, Google has also cleaned up the overall design a bit so that things look disciplined.
Gmail users on Android and iOS now have much cleaner experience. Google has begun rolling out a redesign version of the Gmail app to its Android and iOS users. And it brings the app much more in line with other Google products.
Gmail Redesign Version
Now in Gmail redesign Version changes, on the top is a search field that features a hamburger button to the left and profile icon to the right. This final element can be tapped to provide faster account switching then heading to the navigation drawer. The new four-colored FAB for composing messages, just like on the web, is accessible in the bottom-right corner.
One benefit to the bright design is how labels and other colors immediately standout in the conversations lists. Meanwhile, photos, documents, and other attachments will be displayed inline right in the conversations lists for quick access.
The Gmail redesign version for Android users can have New Google Material Theme icons that feature bolded outlines. On the other hand, the empty interiors are leveraged throughout the redesign. Coming to the display, Gmail will highlight the red banner warnings for “dangerous” messages. So, on tablets and other large-screened interfaces, the rounded selection indicators are used to note the message you’re currently viewing.
Now for iOS, the new Gmail redesign version for iOS gets rid of the previous bright red color that themed the app bar and other parts of the interface. This stark white color starts at the top of the app where there is now a full-width search field. At the right is your avatar icon that opens an account switcher when tapped. While on the bottom-right corner is a four-colored FAB, which matches the web to compose new emails. Besides the visual do up, this version features three density “views” that users can select between: Default, Comfortable, and Compact.
